Chargers inform NFL of plans to move to LA
  • 7 years ago
The Chargers appear ready to leave San Diego, their home of 56 seasons, for the potentially more lucrative but crowded Los Angeles market. The franchise played its inaugural season in Los Angeles in 1960 before moving to San Diego in 1961. The Chargers have notified NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and other league owners of their plan, ESPN first informed. The Chargers are considering playing for the next two years at the StubHub Center, a 30,000-seat stadium, until the stadium they’ll share with the Rams opens in 2019.
