Showtime boss supports Emmy Rossum's equal pay on 'Shameless'

After seven seasons of "Shameless," Emmy Rossum is finally making the same pay, if not more, as her co-star William H. Macy. "Just to be clear, it felt like [salary] parity was very justified in this case and we were abdicating for that from the beginning," Showtime's David Nevins said at the Television Critics Association tour. Nevins noted that he's happy Rossum that an agreement was reached and is awaiting the drama-comedy to return for season eight. Macy was also in full support of Rossum an equal pay and spoke out against the issue, even citing the Equal Rights Amendment.
