Here's What Obama Said When Asked If He Likes Trump

During a recent interview on ABC’s “This Week,” George Stephanopoulos asked the president point blank if he liked Donald Trump, and Obama responded obliquely by saying, in part, “I've enjoyed the conversations that we've had.”
President Obama appears to have avoided expressing his personal feelings about Donald Trump.
During an interview on ABC’s “This Week” that aired Sunday, Obama talked about some of the conversations he and Trump have had; then, George Stephanopoulos asked him how the president-elect has impressed him.
Obama responded by saying, “You know, he is somebody who I think is very engaging and gregarious.”
Then, the president was asked point blank, “Do you like him?”
He is quoted as saying, “You know, I've enjoyed the conversations that we've had. He is somebody who I think is not lacking in confidence…”
Obama then said, “...it's probably a prerequisite for the job, or at least you have to have enough craziness to think that you can do the job....I think that he has not spent a lot of time sweating the details of, you know, all the policies…”
Trump has been more effusive about the president in the past; after their first post-election meeting at the White House, the businessman reportedly told journalists multiple times that Obama was, in his words, “a good man.”
Then, on November 22, Politico’s Hadas Gold tweeted that, during a meeting with media executives, Trump was said to have been “effusive in his praise of Obama.”
He is also quoted as saying, “The feeling is mutual because it takes two to tango.”
