ISLAMABAD: A new Justice Asif Saeed Khosa-led Supreme Court (SC) larger bench will resume the hearing of ‘Panama Papers Leaks’ case on Wednesday.

Chief Justice Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar had formed a five-member larger SC bench last year comprising Supreme Court judges – Justice Azmat Saeed, Justice Ijaz Afzal, Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Ijaz-ul-Hasan – to hear the high-profile case.

A day ahead of the ‘Panama Papers Leaks’ case hearing, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his children and son-in-law changed their lawyers, while the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) submitted a set of additional documents to the court.

PM BRINGS IN NEW LEGAL TEAM
Senior lawyer Salman Aslam Butt has been replaced by Makhdoom Ali Khan to defend the premier. A formal application in this regard has been submitted to the court.

Likewise, senior lawyer Salman Akram Raja will appear on behalf of Prime Minister’s children, Maryam Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz and Hasan Nawaz.

PTI SUBMITS MORE EVIDENCE
PTI’s counsel Naeem Bukhari submitted the documentary evidence at the top court on behalf of Imran Khan and his party.

According to details, the documents include a letter sent to the Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca and an old interview of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif given to a local new channel some years ago, as important evidence to support PTI’s stance in the case.

In addition, the party also included a document regarding the worth of London Flats showing them as part of the Sharif family’s property before 2006.

“WE WILL PROVE THAT PM NAWAZ LIED”
Briefing media on the additional documentary evidence Khan said, “Changing lawyers and Donald Trump’s call will not help Sharifs in Panama Case.”

“We will prove that PM Nawaz lied at the parliament and courts.”

“Mariam Nawaz was a beneficiary of two companies which she denied,” he said and added, “She is the real owner of Nelson and Nescol companies.”

Khan said that money-laundering cash was sent outside the country which was later brought back to Pakistan.

“It is evident from the Qatari Prince letter that the property belongs to Hussain Nawaz,” said Chairman PTI and continued that “We will prove through the documents that no trust was ever made.”

Khan also challenged the Sharif family to deny the documentary evidence, PTI submitted at the SC today and assured that PTI will accept the verdict of SC bench in the Panagamate casAAj tak news live
