Priyanka Chopra Can't Sing For 'Barfi!' Due To Music Album Contract

A few days ago, there had been a major buzz about the news that actress Priyanka Chopra, who will be seen playing the role of an autistic girl in Anurag Basu's Barfi!, will also be lending her voice for a song in the film.

However, sources now claim that Piggy Chops, as she is fondly known, would not be able to do so as she is bound by a contract related to her debut international music album, which says that she cannot lend her voice to any project. It seems that composer Pritam Chakraborty was quite keen on having Priyanka sing a song in the movie, but after Pritam approached Chopra, she politely refused to do so, claiming that she is bound by the contract.

Sources also claim that the song is supposed to be recorded by this weekend and that Pritam is working towards roping in a fresh singer for the song as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Priyanka's music album, which contains ten pop songs, is expected to release worldwide by next year.

Directed by Anurag Basu, Barfi! stars Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra alongwith South actress Ileana D'Cruz and is slated to release on September 14 this year.
