English Vinglish Movie Review brought to you by Pankhurie. English Vinglish has been wrongly called Sridevi's comeback. It is not one. It's, in fact, a reminder that she had not gone anywhere. Sridevi has delivered one of her career-best performances in the film. She plays Shashi Godbole, a middle-aged Maharasthrian housewife, who is content with running a small-time business of selling ladoos and taking care of her family. However, her weakness at English embarrasses her teenage daughter and her husband Satish. The two openly mock at Shashi's mistakes instead of showing appreciation for her attempts. Trying her best to fit into the role of a perfect housewife, Shashi overlooks her own wants from life.
