Train derails in India, at least 61 people dead

A train derailed in India in the northern city of Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh state on Wednesday, leaving at least 61 people dead, according to officials. The train come off the tracks, despite traveling a slow pace, Indian Railways said. The accident comes following two other significant incidents in recent months. On Nov. 20, at least 146 people were killed due to a derailment. While India's railway system is the fourth largest in the world, thousands of people die in train accidents per year.
