Multi-talented Kamal Haasan's upcoming tri-lingual spy thriller 'Vishwaroop', which has attracted its share of controversy after Kamal decided to premiere the film on DTH before the theatrical release, assured media-persons yesterday at a press event that such a move would not affect the business of multi-plexes.
When asked about the adverse reaction of a chain of multi-plexes, Kamal said, "The film 'Vishwaroop' is made for the big screen and people will go and watch it in theatres, irrespective of the DTH release. Going to watch movies in theatres is a cultural experience for Indians. People still go to bars to drink when they can very well drink at home, don't they? Watching a movie is similar...I can understand the apprehension of multi-plexes but I can assure you that whatever I am doing will maintain the 'eco-system' of the business and not burn bridges anywhere."
'Vishwaroop', which has been made in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu is slated to release on January 11 next year.
