Panasonic invests nearly $260M in providing solar cells to Tesla

Panasonic invested $256 million in supplying Tesla Motors production facility in New York to produce photovoltaic cells and modules. The Japanese company will make the investment to the production facility based in Buffalo, New York. The two companies plan to start production of PV modules in 2017 and increase gigawatt module production in 2019. The news of the joint partnership comes after the companies initially announced their solar plans in October.
