Ace filmmakers Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee have joined hands to mark 100 years of Indian cinema. The filmmakers are gearing up for the release of their upcoming movie 'Bombay Talkies', which is their tribute to the Indian Film industry.

'Bombay Talkies' is a collection of four short films, which have been directed by Johar, Akhtar, Banerjee and Kashyap. At the trailer launch of the film, KJo stated that he initially wanted to turn down the offer and was also 'overawed' by the other three directors.

"When I was approached for this film, I was all set to say I don't want to do this, then I got a nudge from Zoya and I just said why not. Brevity has never been my strength, I have never made a short film in my life and I was a little overawed by these filmmakers because all them have done some exceptional and path-breaking stuff before and I just felt a little scared of whether I would fit in, but I was so glad that I did it," said Karan. "I think it's the most alive part of what I have done. In those nine days that I shot this film I felt most alive as a filmmaker, something I haven't felt in every film and I would really like to thank all of them (Zoya, Anurag and Dibakar) for being so fantastic," he further added.

Meanwhile, Karan is also looking forward to the release of his other projects 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' and 'Gippi'.
