Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone To Play Lead Roles In 'Bajirao Mastani'

If reports are to be believed, then Sanjay Leela Bhansali's dream project Bajirao Mastani may finally take off this year. Sanjay has been planning this project for almost 14 years now and reportedly, he is in talks with Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone, for the film's lead roles.
The flick is based on the life of Peshwa Bajirao and his ladylove Mastani. Sources reveal that Sanjay will start working on the film post the release of his upcoming movie Ram Leela and it is expected to go on floors in April 2014. Insiders reveal that both Kat and DeePee have showed immense interest in the project and while one of them will play the role of Mastani, other will essay the character of Bajirao's wife Kashibai.
Bhansali had announced this project in 1999 and wanted to cast Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who were dating back then, in the lead roles. However, post her break-up with Khan, Aishwarya didn't want to be a part of the film. Eros International will produce Bajirao Mastani and the lead actor of the film is yet to be locked.
