Vidya Balan Won't Be A Part Of 'Mother India' Remake, If There Is One

Vidya Balan recently stated that remaking Mehboob Khan's 1957 film, 'Mother India' is an impossible feat, and that if someone attempted it, she wouldn't be a part of it.
At a recent event, the actress said, "I don't think anybody would even dare to remake 'Mother India' and if someone does then I will salute him, but I will not do it."
'Mother India', which was the first Indian film to be nominated for the Best Foreign Language film at the Oscars (followed by 'Salaam Bombay' and 'Lagaan'), was much appreciated for the powerful performances given by Nargis Dutt and Sunil Dutt.
If someone were to indeed remake the classic, Vidya would definitely be the perfect choice. Too bad, she won't pick it up though!
