Alia Bhatt: 'Don't compare me with Deepika Padukone'
The trailer of 'Chennai Express' released a few weeks ago and Deepika Padokone, who'll be playing a South Indian girl in the film, has received a lot of appreciation for getting her character right. However, Deepika is not the only heroine who's playing a South belle in her upcoming film, 'Student Of The Year' star Alia Bhatt will also be seen playing a Tamilian girl in her forthcoming movie '2 States', but Alia says that people shouldn't compare her with Padukone as she's still very new in the industry. At a recently held event when the actress was asked if she's has read '2 States', the book and was compared to Deepika, the newbie said, "I have read the book but she's a modern day South Indian girl, so the accent in not too heavy. I'm not like Deepika from 'Chennai Express'. Please don't compare me with that because I won't be able to pull that off the way she did it. But obviously when my character is talking to her parents a little Tamilian comes. I know a little Tamil but I have just mugged up my dialogues." "I don't think I can be compared to her she's a much senior actor. She's a fantastic actress and I have just started so when people compare me with her I feel flattered but there can be no comparison," she further added. Alia will be seen opposite Arjun Kapoor in '2 States', which is an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's novel of the same title.
