Pope calls for peace in Christmas address

Pope Francis called for peace in the middle east, offering comfort to victims of terror, in his Christmas message on Sunday. He urged to put an end to fighting in Syria, noting that "far too much blood has been spilled" in the six-year conflict. In his address, the Pope paid respect to the victims who lost their lives in the attack at Berlin's Christmas market only a week ago. He spoke in front of thousands of Catholic pilgrims in St. Peter's Square.
