Shah Rukh Khan's 'Chennai Express' Crosses 200 Crore Mark

Shah Rukh Khan's 'Chennai Express' has created history by crossing the Rs. 200 crore mark at the box-office, in the second week of its release. The movie has become the first Indian film to have hit a double century in such a short span. However, this is not the only record that the film has broken. The Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer is also the only Bollywood film to have made Rs.100 crore in its opening weekend itself. The film has shattered other records too by becoming the highest paid preview grosser, the highest opening grosser and has also clenched the title of the highest 2nd day collection. The movie raked in Rs. 6.75 crore through paid previews and collected Rs. 33.12 cr, Rs. 28.05 cr and Rs. 32.50 cr respectively on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, in its opening weekend. SRK recently hosted a bash at a plush five star hotel in Mumbai, to celebrate the success of his film.
