Australian police revealed early Friday morning local time that they had thwarted a terror plot in central Melbourne on or around Christmas Day. Prime Minister Malcom Turnbull Joint Counter Terrorism Team agencies arrested six men and a woman, all in their early to mid-twenties, in the Melbourne area overnight, Victoria Police said. Victoria Police said the ISIS-inspired plot targeted Federation Square, Flinders Street Station and Saint Paul's Cathedral. Four of the suspects arrested are Australian-born and the other is Egyptian-born with Australian citizenship.
