Farah Khan Reveals Why 'Happy New Year' Got Delayed By Ten Years

Though the germ of Happy New Year got planted in Farah Khan's mind way back in 2005, the film is releasing almost after a decade and Farah says that according to her, this is the perfect time for the movie to release. At a recent event, when the director was asked why it took her ten years to make the film, she said, ''So many things happened after Main Hoon Na, I got married, then I wrote some other version of HNY, we didn't like it so we made Om Shanti Om after that I had children and so on and so forth.'' ''I think a movie has its own destiny and time and only when that time comes, that movie gets made and I'm glad that it's being made today because I don't think ten years ago it would have been made on this scale and with this grandeur, with the kind of production value that Shah Rukh's Red Chillies Entertainment has put in it so I think this is the right time for the film to come out,'' she further added. HNY stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani, Abhishek Bachchan, Vivaan Shah and Jackie Shroff in the lead roles and is slated to illumine the silver screens this Diwali.
