Happy New Year: Shah Rukh Khan Respects Critics' Point Of View, Farah Khan Doesn't
  • 7 years ago
Though Shah Rukh Khan's latest release Happy New Year has managed to break many box-office records, it has failed to impress the critics and while SRK respects the critics' point of view, Farah Khan, the director of the film, says that it doesn't matter to her.

At a recent event, when SRK was asked to comment on critics slamming the film, he said, ''The way the critics see a film, their view of point is right and I respect and accept it. Our view point is different and if it doesn't match with the critics, then next time we will try and work harder. We want everyone to watch our film and if in that a few people are left, we would want them to watch our film the next time around, as I believe that entertainment should be for all and we can't be pompous enough to say that somebody's point of view doesn't matter.''

While Shah Rukh was talking Farah intervened and said that critics' review doesn't matter to her. Farah said, ''My previous films- Om Shanti Om and Main Hoon Na were given very poor reviews and now, they are considered cult films. When recently I went to Gaiety Galaxy theatre, the samosa wala gave me a thumbs up and said that after a long time the theatre is so packed. That is the review that matters to me.''
