BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN — An Uber driver is in jail this week after he allegedly stabbed a passenger five times for tapping on his car window.

According to a Bloomfield Township police report posted by ClickOnDetroit, Jacob Matthew Allemon, aged 23, picked up a couple from a holiday party in Bloomfield, Michigan early Saturday morning.

The man tapped on Allemon’s window to let them know they were coming into his car. Police say Allemon felt this action was disrespectful to his vehicle.

He drove them for around a mile, then stopped at a parking lot and told them to get out. The couple asked if they could wait for another ride, since they were in the middle of a snowstorm.

Instead, Allemon started fighting with the man. He reportedly stabbed him five times in his face, chest and neck, but, amazingly the 49-year-old victim managed to disarm and restrain him until a nearby police officer arrived.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the victim was treated at a hospital and released the following day.

Allemon, meanwhile, was charged with assault and is being held on $250,000 bond. Uber banned him from the ride-hailing app and described the incident as “appalling.”
