Bollywood actor-producer Akshay Kumar, who recently launched the cover of Amish Tripathi's latest book Scion Of Ikshvaku, revealed at the event that when Tripathi's first book The Immortals Of Meluha had come out, he had been advised to buy the rights of the book by his family members. Talking at the event, the Khiladi said, ''I don't read books much though my mother-in-law and wife does and I still remember that when Amish's first book on Lord Shiva had come out, my mother-in-law and other family members had advised me to buy the rights of the book and make a film on it. I had seen the cover of the book and was not convinced that I could play Lord Shiva. However, when Karan Johar later bought the rights and told me about the film and its plot, I felt that I should have listened to my family members. I regret not buying the rights of the book back then, but I have now decided to read as much as possible.'' Akshay will be next seen playing a vigilante in upcoming film Gabbar Is Back, which also stars Shruti Haasan.
