Katti Batti Trailer 2015 | Kangana Ranaut, Imran Khan | Launch Event

The wait is finally over! After piquing the audience's curiosity with its fun teaser poster, the makers of Katti Batti have now unveiled the trailer of their upcoming Kangana Ranaut-Imran Khan starrer and we have to say that it strikes all the right chords.

The trailer starts with Payal (Kangana) shooting a home video of her live-in partner Maddy (Imran) via her iPad. The cute young couple, is seen defying the social norms and making a mockery of wedding rituals by using tomato ketchup as ‘ek chutki sindoor' and taking pheras around a heap of garbage that's set ablaze, instead of a havan kund.

The very first scene tells the audiences what they are in for however, as soon as the viewers start expecting it to be a regular run-of-the-mill rom-com, the plot takes a sharp turn as Imran is shown being rushed to a hospital. The entire film moves to-and-fro in time and again, we are transported back to the past, where we get to see how Imran proposes to Kangana and though he wants a committed relationship, she is only willing to get involved with him if it's a 'time pass' fling. Imran, who is completely smitten by her, reluctantly agrees and they both start living in together.

While Payal is a rich spoilt brat, Maddy is a regular middle-class guy, who loves her endlessly. All's well in their perfect yet quirky world until one day, after being in a relationship for five years, Payal dumps him and he goes into severe depression and even tries to commit suicide to put an end to all his miseries. Now we again zoom in to the present, where Imran who has finally got discharged from the hospital, starts looking for his estranged ladylove, although all his friends advise him against it. Like the entire trailer, even its end is very intriguing with Imran Khan dressed up as Devdas professing his love for Kangana, who is seen as Paro. Weird? Funny? Interesting? Go figure…

Kangana being Kangana looks every bit of the quirky and eccentric character that she's playing and she carries her bohemian chic avatar with great elan. Her devil-may-care attitude is quite heartwarming and may remind you of one of your whimsical friends. It's a treat to watch Imran after a long time and he looks quite adorable in his bespectacled look. The duo looks very charming together courtesy their crackling chemistry and they sure make for a refreshing on-screen jodi.

After watching the trailer, we can safely say that the makers have a winner on their hands.

Directed by Nikhil Advani, the film is being presented by UTV Motion Pictures. It has been produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and will hit the theaters on September 18.
