Billionaire Mark Cuban, who was openly critical of Donald Trump during the campaign season, may be softening his position on the president-elect.
On Wednesday, during an interview on CNBC’s 'Fast Money Halftime Report,' Cuban reportedly called Trump this country’s “number one draft pick.”
The Mavericks owner is also quoted as saying, “He's who we put our hopes and dream with. Now it is easier because we haven't played a game yet. No reason to rush to judgment or come to any conclusions now. Let's see what happens starting January 21st and we'll go from there.”
Cuban then said, “I hope he's a superstar.”
This reflects a shift for the outspoken entrepreneur who backed Hillary Clinton for president and engaged in a public war of words with Trump during the election.
In one instance, after Cuban predicted that America’s financial markets would tank if the Republican wins, Trump responded by calling him “not smart enough to understand what we are doing.”
