'Pizzagate' fake news conspiracy: man opens fire in restuarant

A man who claimed to be investigating a conspiracy theory about Hillary Clinton running a child sex ring in a Washington, DC pizza place fired an assault rifle in the restaurant, police said. Edgar Maddison Welch, 28, walked into Comet Ping Pong and fired a gun toward a restaurant employee. The employee quickly escaped the gunfire and notified the authorities. Welch then fired the gun into the floor. No one was injured in the incident. Police arrived on scene and arrested Welch.
