9 dead, many missing in Oakland warehouse party fire

At least nine people died when a fire that tore through an Oakland warehouse during a party, fire officials said Saturday. The blaze ignited around 11:30 p.m. Friday night in a large converted warehouse at 31st Avenue and International Boulevard, in the Fruitvale neighborhood. Most of those who were killed were found on the second floor, sources say. “There is still a lot of the building that needs to be searched.” Oakland Fire Chief Teresa Deloach Reed said.
