Mountain lions can be a serious threat, so when reports of one lurking around Celebration Park in Gardner, Kansas began to roll in, the local police department installed some cameras in the area.
While they did not capture any evidence of a ferocious feline, they did find wildlife of an entirely different kind.
People dressed in various costumes, from demons to gorillas, were recorded frolicking in the area.
Some even stopped and posed for the camera.
On Monday, the Gardner Police Department posted some of the images to its Facebook page and took a moment to express its deep gratitude.
The post read, in part, “…it made our day when we pulled up what we expected to be hundreds of pictures of coyotes, foxes and raccoons. Thank you to the citizens who noticed the cameras. Your effort and sense of humor are greatly appreciated."
