A man has been banned from flying on Delta by the company’s CEO after a video of him ranting about politics aboard one flight went viral, reports Fortune.
The controversy began after Emma Baum posted a Facebook video on November 22 showing a man standing in the middle of the aisle shouting President-elect Donald Trump’s name a few times.
At one point, he yells, “We got some Hillary b*****s on here?”
He also says loudly, “Donald Trump is your president, every goddamn one of you. If you don’t like it, too bad.”
Baum says the man had even given her permission to be filmed.
Despite his unruly behavior, he was not asked to leave the Atlanta flight to Allentown, Pennsylvania, a decision which has stirred controversy.
On November 26, Delta issued a statement which acknowledged that “this customer should not have been allowed to continue on the flight.”
Two days later, Ed Bastian, Delta CEO, publicly released an internal memo which states that the man "...displayed behavior that was loud, rude and disrespectful to his fellow customers.”
The letter eventually states, “He will never again be allowed on a Delta plane.”
Bastian points out that all customers aboard that flight have been given apologies and refunds.
