Tasmania Police Negotiate Peaceful End to 14-Hour Siege in Hobart

A 47-year-old Moonah man was placed in police custody on November 28 following a 14-hour siege. Tasmania Police said the incident occurred in Maple Avenue, Moonah, and was sparked by a report that someone had been attacked by a dog.Police said the man surrendered to police without incident, is not injured, and that no officers were injured despite the man allegedly firing upon several responding officers during the police response.
“The man, armed with a firearm, barricaded himself in his residence and police spent 14 hours negotiating with him before successfully peacefully resolving the incident,” police stated.
