Sean Hannity, a commentator for Fox News, is encouraging President-elect Donald Trump to block assess to the press until it confesses to showing favor for Hillary Clinton’s campaign, reports Politico.
Said Hannity, “Trump can do this and speak directly to you, the America [American] people, without having his words twisted and taken out of context. Why not do that?”
He continued, “So until members of the media come clean about colluding with the Clinton campaign and admit that they knowingly broke every ethical standard they are supposed to uphold, they should not have the privilege, they should not have the responsibility of covering the president on behalf of you, the American people."
Trump has already shown a preference for communicating with the public via Twitter and videos. He has also made his disdain for the mainstream media abundantly clear.
On Monday, he summoned news executives and anchors to Trump Tower for an off-the-record meeting.
According to an unnamed source who spoke with the New York Post, "Trump kept saying, 'We're in a room of liars, the deceitful, dishonest media who got it all wrong.'"
Trump is also said to have singled out Jeff Zucker, the president of CNN, telling him, “I hate your network, everyone at CNN is a liar and you should be ashamed."
