Kanye West Hospitalized For Exhaustion and Mental Health Concerns

Kanye West’s doctor, Dr. Michael Farzam, was the individual who made the 911 call that led to West’s hospitalization. TMZ states that Farzam warned the 911 dispatcher that although West was cooperative before police officials arrived at the scene of his “psychiatric emergency, there was a chance that he would “become violent” when they came to help him. Law enforcement tells the tabloid that Farzam said that his patient’s name was “Jim Jones, 39 years old, 5’8″, 175 lbs” who “suffers from temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration.” The police report says that cops placed West on a 5150 psychiatric hold, which authorizes a qualified officer or clinician to involuntarily confine a person with a suspected mental disorder that makes them a danger to themselves or others, but there is a discrepancy as to whether this is true. The tabloid was told that the protocol behind West’s alleged 5150 hold required officials to handcuff him to the stretcher.
