Report: Chelsea Clinton ‘Being Groomed’ For Congressional Seat

The New York Post is reporting that Chelsea Clinton is ‘being groomed’ to run for the Congressional seat held by Rep. Nita Lowey.

Hillary Clinton’s recent loss in the U.S. presidential election may not mean the family is done with politics.
A New York Post report states that “Chelsea Clinton is being groomed for the New York seat held by Rep. Nita Lowey.”
According to the writer, Emily Smith, the timeline would be contingent upon Lowey’s decision to retire.
The nearly 30-year incumbent is currently 79 years old.
Her district, the 17th, covers sections of Rockland and Westchester counties, the latter of which includes Chappaqua, where Bill and Hillary Clinton live.
The couple reportedly purchased the house next door for their daughter and her family which would make a change of residence easier for Chelsea.
The New York Post story cites an unnamed source as the basis for these claims, and no official response from the parties involved has been issued.
