San Antonio Spurs @ LA Lakers NBA Basketball Preview

The Lakers defensively wont pose the problems for the Spurs like Shaq and Amare Stoudemire did in the Suns victory over the Spurs last Wednesday night. The Lakers do not possess good interior defense right now and the middle will be open for Tim Duncan around the rim and Manu Ginobili for his drives to the basket. Lamar Odom has been an inconsistent player and really doesn’t help the Lakers enough in the paint. Gasol needs an off-season weightlifting program under the Lakers to improve his strength because he gives up space on defense. I don’t think the Lakers can turn the Spurs to a jump shooting team right now with their lack of defense. I like the Spurs +2.
