Which political party will control the U.S. Senate?

The race for control of the U.S. Senate is tightening as eight states are nearly tied. Republicans currently hold a slight advantage over Democrats in a 54-46 Senate vote. For Democrats to regain control of the chamber, they would need five more seats in case Donald Trump comes out on top, or four more if Hillary Clinton wins the election. The party that gains control of the Senate will be in control for the next two years.
