Study suggests missing MH370 plane plummeted into ocean

New research indicates a missing Malaysia Airlines plane might have plummeted into the Indian Ocean with no-one in control during its final moments.
A report by the safety investigator leading the search – the Australian Transport Safety Bureau – supports its view that the aircraft descended rapidly after running out of fuel. Satellite data backs the theory that it went into a so-called death dive.
Flight MH370 disappeared in March 2014 en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur with 239 passengers and crew on board. What happened has become one of the world’s greatest aviation mysteries.
The report also says analysis of wing flap debris shows the plane was not configured for a landing or a ditching into the sea.
Several items have been found, notably on the French Reunion island.
The data is thought to suggest the plane probably did come down within the current search area.
