Mad Max is an open-world action/adventure game based on the post-apocalyptic movie franchise.Featuring open-world exploration, vehicle combat and hand-to-hand fighting that looks to be similar to Shadow of Mordor and the Arkham series, players explore the post-apocalyptic wasteland that draws inspiration from it's film predecessors like The Road Warrior and Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome as well as 2015's Mad Max: Fury Road.

The story of Mad Max focuses on the titular Max's adventures as he traverses the barren post-apocalyptic wasteland and attempts to extract vengeance on the bandits that left him for dead. Along the way, he will encounter a host of characters who will help him on his quest - for a price.

It is set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland consisting of deserts, canyons, and caves. Players control Max Rockatansky as he progresses through the wasteland to seek revenge on a gang of raiders, led by Scabrous Scrotus, who robbed him and to build the ultimate car: the Magnum Opus along with his assistant Chumbucket. Mad Max emphasizes vehicular combat, in which the player uses weapon and armor upgrades on their car to fight enemies, while on-foot combat combines professional wrestling attacks and boxing techniques. The game features extensive car and character customization, and soft boundaries, also known as the "Big Nothing", a theoretically endless place which players can explore.
