AT&T is selling customer data to law enforcement for millions

According to documents obtained by The Daily Beast, AT&T is making millions off selling customer data to law enforcement agencies. The program is called Project Hemisphere and it gives law enforcement access to your data, at the cost of millions in taxpayer dollars. In addition to call logs, Project Hemisphere stores metadata, like location. You don't even have to be an AT&T customer; callers who speak with an AT&T customer will have their data recorded as well. The agreement mandates that law enforcement agencies don't disclose Hemisphere to the public. It also prevents them from disclosing it to people who they may be investigating.
