Second earthquake rocks Italy hours after 6.4 magnitude tremor hits Rome
  • 7 years ago
A 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck Central Italy on Wednesday, the second of the evening whose tremors were felt as far away as the capital Rome.
Some buildings have collapsed, a motorway has been closed and many people in the countryside were plunged into darkness as the power was knocked out, but there have been no reports of casualties.
Wednesday’s earthquake caused further damage to already precarious structures in Amatrice, the town worst hit by the 6.2-magnitude tremor in August, officials said.
