Female cop holds back from shooting black man on PCP beating her due to fears of backlash

CHICAGO — Chicago police have released body cam footage of an arrest that didn’t go smoothly at all, and resulted in serious injuries to a female police officer who was afraid to fire her weapon due to fears of backlash.

On October 5, 28-year-old Parta Huff was driving and somehow crashed his car into a liquor store. Witnesses say he was out of it. Police report he was high on PCP at the time. Huff wasn’t injured in the accident, and decided to just walk away.

It didn’t take long for the cops to catch up to him, and when they did, they tried to put the cuffs on him. When he was resisting arrest, they tried tasing him. As the video shows, Huff didn’t respond well to that.

The female officer that was trying to arrest him eventually gets taken to the ground, and receives several blows to the head. As she was being beaten, she reportedly thought about pulling out her gun, but decided against it fearing she would be criticized for her use of deadly force on a black man.

There were two body cam perspectives released. In the second body cam, as the female cops fellow officers storm in to come to her aid, Huff doesn’t release his grip, despite still being tased. After hanging on to her for about five minutes, he finally let go.

The female officer later admitted that she thought she was going to die, but wanted to spare her family and her department from being scrutinized on the national news the next day. She suffered a concussion, bone chips to her shoulder, a neck injury, and had bits of concrete pulled from her face. She is still recovering.
