CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OHIO — A 15-year-old teenager was shot in the head and killed during a robbery last Friday.

Sunny Patel was gunned down when an armed suspect rushed into the Mr. Hero restaurant around 8 p.m. on South Taylor Road in Cleveland Heights, News 5 reported.

Authorities say the suspect shot the teen once in the head, demanded money and then fled the scene.

Patel was rushed to University Hospitals where he died around 11 p.m., according to his family.

Surveillance photos released by officials show the suspect wearing gray sweatpants, a black Nike hoodie, a white bandana over his face and sunglasses.

Ravi Patel, Patel’s father, said Sunny wasn’t a worker at the store. He was just helping his aunt and uncle, who own the restaurant, out for the night.

Patel was only a sophomore at Mayfield Heights High School.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the shooter.
