NASA is one again dazzling us Earthlings, this time with a video showing a particularly mesmerizing light show taking place on the sun.

In the animation, illuminated arches appear to dance upon our star’s surface.
Of course, the sun’s display is not as conducive to up-close viewing, in part because it’s incredibly large and powerful, as stressed by the inclusion of a tiny Earth for scale purposes.
Further, the massive arches are created by charged solar material traveling along magnetic field lines.
The imagery used to create the video was gathered by the Solar Dynamics Observatory on September 29.
