No Major Injuries Reported After Explosion Levels Two New Jersey Homes

A gas leak caused an explosion in a residential area on Goshen Street in Paterson, New Jersey, on Tuesday, October 4. Two homes were destroyed and 15 others were damaged as a result of the blast, reported ABC 7 in New York.
All 38 residents who were evacuated from the Goshen Street block were accounted for, ABC News reported. Ten firefighters were transported to the hospital as a preventative measure. No other injuries were reported.According to a statement from PSE&G, the gas company in Paterson, the fire department was called at approximately 9:15 am about a strong odor of gas. The fire department then evacuated residents, as gas crews and service technicians were responding.
Passaic County Water also reported possible discolored water in the area but that it is safe to drink. At the time of writing, PSE&G did not know the cause of the explosion, but is working with local officials to fully investigate. Credit: Twitter/Paul Bassett
