'Gurudwara Chintaharan Dukhniwaran', is the oldest Gurudwara of Kanpur. It is said that 9th Guru of Sikhs Guru Tegh Bahadur stayed here for two days with his family & hundreds of followers in the year 1665, when he was going to Assam, via Patna Sahib. According to the book 'History of Kanpur' (by-Narain Prasad Arora & Laxmi Kant Tripathi) he came to Kanpur by Road, from here onwards he continued his Journey through the river Ganges. There is a bed inside the Gurudwara premises which is said to be the one on which Guru Sahib slept during his visit.
