With Ganga river flowing above the danger mark, there is a tense situation among the residents of Parmarth Niketan in Rishikesh of Uttarakhand. The idol of Lord Shiva of the Parmarth Niketan has flown away in the stream. Parmarth Niketan is situated in the lap of the lush Himalayas, along with the banks of the Ganges. The ashram was founded in 1942 by Pujya Swami Shukdevanandji Maharaj. Now Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji Maharaj is the President and Spiritual Head of Parmarth Niketan. As the largest ashram in Rishikesh with over 1000 rooms, Parmarth Niketan provides a clean, pure and sacred atmosphere as well as beautiful gardens to thousands of pilgrims, who come from all corners of the Earth.
