Penn State roommates Jessica Taylor and Nikki Homanick’s petty Twitter spat went viral

COLLEGE STATE, PENNSYLVANIA — Two college roommates’ petty fight was posted to Twitter, and for some reason the internet just couldn’t get enough.

It began when Penn State student Jessica Taylor discovered a number of subtweets, which are negative posts about a particular person without actually identifying them, written by her roommate Nikki Homanick.

One tweet said, “Two weeks down and I already hate my roommate.” Another said, “I really wish I didn’t hate coming home to my dorm room #roommateprobs.”

Taylor took screenshots the tweets, reposted them on her Twitter account then actually printed them out and posted them in their room.

That’s when things got crazy.

The spat continued over Taylor’s weed habit. In text messages, which Taylor posted on Twitter, the girls fought over the fact that Taylor keep marijuana in their room. At one point, police even visited the girls’ dorm room. Taylor blamed Homanick for the incident, while Homanick said she did report the issue to the resident advisor but denied calling the police.

Twitter users began chiming in, some in support of Taylor and her smoking habit. Users posted images of Homanick drinking asking if her habit was tolerable.

Homanick has since been staying in another room on the same floor. Taylor did tweet she meant to move out but decided to stay.
