It is said that the pandavas escaped from laksha graha or the Lakhmandal on River Yamuna and spent 12 years in the area near Hanol 190 Km from Dehradun. According to locals the stones near the temple which weigh more than 45 Kg are nothing but kanche which Bheem used to play.
