Reality bites: JNNURM projects in Kanpur

There have been repeated claims of use of sub standard material in JNNURM projects in Kanpur. Watch this video to see it yourself. Under the Jawahar Lal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission 2008 Rs 864 crore worth project for supplying drinking water to the city residents are to be completed. The digging work had started in 2008 and was to get completed in next five years but the fact is that city is yet to get rid of this digging work. During testing there have been many instances when roads have caved in due to leakage of water from the pipes.
