Home Depot Pulls Halloween Product Deemed Offensive By Customer

Home Depot removed a halloween product from its stores in Canada after a customer deemed it offensive.

During the festival season, retailers are always trying to be creative in order to outsmart the competition.
However, Home Depot apparently pushed the boundaries too far and is reportedly removing a product from its stores after a customer complaint in Canada.
The roughly $30 product in question is Scary Peeper Creeper and as the description states, it is "...a hanging window prop that can be hung inside or out of any window. Perfect for scaring friends and family during Halloween or any other time of the year. Hang facing out to freak out trick-or-treaters during Halloween or mount him facing in to scare unsuspecting guests at your Halloween party."
Breanne Hunt-Wells contacted CBC News and stated, in part, in an interview, "I fail to see the humour in it...It makes light of a very serious crime. Voyeurism is a crime in Canada."
The media outlet reached out to Home Depot and subsequently, the company responded with an apology and mentioned that they will be pulling the product from their stores in Canada.
Many online users, however, don't seem to find it offensive with one noting, "There are much scarier decorations out there which make light of murder. This shouldn't have been pulled."
Another said, "...it's supposed to be scary, that's the point. What's next, no more scary costumes? Time to cancel Halloween altogether I guess."
