Cam Newton wears MLK T-shirt in response to Charlotte unrest

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton made a statement on the unrest in Charlotte on Sunday by wearing a black T-shirt during pregame warm-ups with a quote from Martin Luther King Jr. emblazoned on the back. “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere,” the quote reads. Protests are happening outside the stadium following the shooting death of Keith Lamont Scott by police in Charlotte earlier this week, but so far there are no signs that the protests will become disruptive or violent.
