Frankfurt Zoo introduced the world to its new pride and joy on Wednesday a baby born to an 11-year-old gorilla named Shira. The baby gorilla, who has no name yet, was born on Thursday as part of the Zoo’s captive breeding program.

According to the Zoo’s Director, Manfred Niekisch, the baby gorilla seems to be healthy and strong and is exceptionally big for its age. The sex of the baby gorilla is still not known at this stage.
