House Speaker Paul Ryan met with Ivanka Trump Monday and among the topics of discussion was what Ryan learned when he was on the 2012 Republican ticket as the party's nominee for vice president, a source told Business Insider. The same source also called the conversation, which took place at the New York Economic Club, a "productive" one. The relationship between Ryan and the Trump family has always been rocky. Ryan at times has condemned Trump's rhetoric and famously declined to endorse him after he clinched the GOP nomination.
