Jia Wertz, founder of Studio 15, is a former corporate fashion veteran who left to start her own philanthropic fashion company after volunteering in Uganda to help local women who were trying to develop sustainable businesses. “I came back to work at my corporate fashion job and thought ‘this is not what I want to do,’ so I quit cold turkey to start my fashion brand,” Wertz said.
